چکیده
Methods We conducted a 6-month prospective cohort study of subjects <18 years who were evaluated for new-onset HSP between February 2009 and June 2010. Weight, height, and casual BP were recorded at 0-7, 60 and 180 days and first-morning urine samples were collected at 0-7, 14, 28, 60, and 180 days after diagnosis. Twenty-four-hour ABPM was completed 6 months after diagnosis. BP measurements were standardized using body mass index and BP Z-scores (casual) and BP index (ABPM). Mixed effects regression models with pre-specified individual level covariates (age and gender) as fixed effects and subject as a random effect were used to examine the relationship between urinary NGAL and the following: 1) casual SBP and DBP over time, 2) ABPM at 6 months after diagnosis, and 3) urine protein to creatinine ratio over time.

Renal neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin and kidney injury molecule-1 expression in children with acute kidney injury and Henoch-Schönlein purpura nephritis
The aim of this study was to investigate the expression of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) and kidney injury molecule-1 (KIM-1) in the serum, urine and renal tissues of children with acute kidney injury (AKI) and Henoch-Schönlein purpura nephritis (A-on-C). A prospective single-center evaluation of the serum, urine and renal NGAL and KIM-1 levels was performed in a cohort of c...
متن کاملElevated Urinary Levels of Cystatin C and Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin in Henoch-Schönlein Purpura Patients with Renal Involvement
Henoch-Schönlein purpura (HSP) is a commonest systemic vasculitis in childhood. The long-term prognosis of HSP is determined by the degree of renal involvement. The aim of this study is to search novel clinically applicable biomarkers to evaluate renal involvement in HSP patients. 20 bio-indexes in urine samples were simultaneously screened by antibody array assay. We indicated that urinary lev...

Background and Aims: This study aimed to investigate the amount of Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in patients' urine with Gram-positive cocci infections Materials and Methods: The microbial culture was prepared from 100 urine samples and the results were recorded. The genus and bacterial were species identified and an antibiogram test was conducted to investigate their resis...
متن کاملComparative Assessment of Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) and Cystatin C as Early Biomarkers for Early Detection of Renal Failure in Patients with Hypertension
Background: Hypertension is one the most common causes of chronic kidney disease (CKD). One of the major concerns in hypertensive patients is early detection of renal disorders. In the past, serum creatinine (Scr) concentration was used as a marker of kidney function, but it proffers a late reflection of reduced glomerular filtration rate. Cystatin C and neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocal...
متن کاملValue of Plasma/Serum Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin in Detection of Pediatric Acute Kidney Injury; a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Background: Major attention has been drawn to the prognostic value of plasma/serum neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL) in detection of acute kidney injury (AKI) in children, but still no consensus has been reached. Accordingly, the present study aimed to assess the diagnostic value of this biomarker in detection of acute kidney injury in children through a systematic review and me...
